Job Title: Senior Test Engineer - Mixed Signal Avionics ICs

Job Description:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Test Engineer to join our team, focusing on high-performance mixed-signal semiconductor products for avionics applications. The ideal candidate will play a key role in driving test development, product qualification, and continuous improvement across the product lifecycle. This position involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful deployment of test solutions and the delivery of high-quality products.  The Senior Test Engineer reports directly to the Test Operations Manager and is responsible and accountable for Test Engineering activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Transition of Test Solutions: Lead the transition of test solutions from existing legacy test platforms to newer, more versatile systems, ensuring smooth integration and improved test coverage and efficiency.
  • Test Solution Design & Implementation: Develop and implement high-speed test solutions at both package and wafer levels. This includes both hardware and software development.
  • Lead Test Strategy Development: Collaborate with design teams to drive analog and digital Design for Test (DFT) methodologies into new product designs, ensuring testability and manufacturability.
  • Production Test Analysis: Review and analyze production test times and test yields to identify opportunities for product and test efficiency improvements, ensuring optimal throughput and performance.
  • Capital Planning Assistance: Assist in the planning of long-term capital acquisition strategies for test equipment and systems, ensuring alignment with the company’s growth and technology roadmap.
  • Innovative Test Methodologies: Identify and explore new and innovative test methodologies that can improve testing accuracy, speed, and cost-efficiency.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with product engineering, design, and validation teams to assess and evaluate new designs, providing valuable feedback from ATE test results to improve the product’s test coverage and overall robustness.
  • Reliability & Qualification Testing: Develop and execute reliability screening solutions to evaluate device performance under life testing conditions, contributing to comprehensive product qualification.
  • Characterization & Robustness: Partner with product engineering to complete ATE characterization, ensuring the design integrity and test solutions align with the intended product lifecycle and mission-critical performance standards.
  • Test Data Analysis & Reporting: Provide concise, accurate, and timely reports and updates on test results, presenting findings clearly and ensuring actionable insights are communicated to relevant teams.
  • Collaborative Partnerships: Develop and maintain strong relationships across all functions, including design, product, characterization, validation, applications, and marketing teams, to ensure effective and efficient collaboration.
  • Customer Support Assistance: Provide assistance with customer support issues, addressing any test-related concerns or questions that may arise during production or product use.
  • Project Management: Manage multiple projects in parallel, ensuring timely delivery while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Adherence to Quality Standards: Deliver test results in strict compliance with quality management standards and best practices, ensuring product reliability and performance.

Qualifications:

  • BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in semiconductor test engineering, with a focus on mixed-signal or avionics products.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with ATE platforms, (i.e. LabView, ATEasy, Cohu/Unisom, Linux systems using C, C++ or similar).
  • Strong knowledge of test development for both analog and digital ICs.
  • Experience in high-speed test solutions, test program development, and debugging.
  • Experience with board level analog/mixed-signal and digital PCB design and layout.
  • Familiarity with reliability testing, life-cycle qualification, and yield improvement methodologies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex data to drive decision-making.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information to various stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of working collaboratively in cross-functional teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience in the avionics industry or similar high-reliability applications is a plus.
